[wd719x] booting from an WD7193 controller...

hi everybody...
I have a PCI SCSI WD7193 controller, and a 1-gigabyte SCSI HDD
on which I installed RedHat Linux 6.2. I managed to compile
the wd719x driver as a module, created an initrd file and tried
to boot from that HDD. At boot time, after it detects
the controller, it crashes with a Kernel panic. I know it says
somewhere in the driver that it cannot boot, but it seems `so close'... :)
I've never played with Linux device drivers before, but if someone
could give me a hint (why it doesn't boot, what needs to be modified),
I'm willing to try. Thanks in advance.
