Help me identify my drive ...

I recently bought one of the hot Imation drive, but I got an external 
version from CompUSA instead of an internal version from BestBuy.  However, 
I can't find any manufacture date on the drive.  BTW, someone told me that 
I should look at the sticker on the box.  If the last 5 digits of the 
number is larger than 171xx, it is manufactured after March!!  But the 
number I have is only 038xx.  Can anyone help me ?  TIA !!
